Word Feeding: Water From Your Eyes “It’s Beautiful” EP (2025)

This record made me think of songs as machines that feed us language.

I love the track “Driving Classics, Playing Cars.” I have no idea what the words could mean. I understand all of them individually, or at least this is what I think. I am often wrong in this regard. I always try to postpone looking at the text because I love my little lyrical deviations. About this song, I think I’m accurate, though.

This song feeds me language in small chunks pushing them through with those little percussive pins.

It feels good, as if I’m attending to an ear itch with a q-tip, which according to medical professionals, one must never do.

Out of all these sequences, I especially like the word “look.” I like the way it sounds and I like the way it means. I like the fact that it stands alone, a little bit isolated from the other words. It think it might be worth it to learn to say it this way. I can imagine “Delta 5” saying this word in a similar way – with barely any singing.

Although the singing is minimal, words seem airborne as they bounce off of the elastic surfaces of the beats and the base. They fall inside of me from above, sometimes I catch them mid-air like a circus seal. It’s a nice feeling.
